Data manipulation - File tweaking, extracting, counting, summing, etc.

This shows some small sample text we will use as input. You can click the "paste" button to simply paste any text into the Text Tweak software program. You can also click the file button and choose a text file, but most prefer to simply cut and paste the data into the software.

Sample data used as input:

This text tweak example shows you how to extract text out of file. You can easily extract data out of a file that is positional, in other words between any 2 positions in the file. You can do that using the option to extract between string positions. This example below however will show you how to extract out data from your file or pasted text which is not in the same location on each row. For example if I want to extract the dollar values out of file, I know they are all starting with a dollar sign, so choose the option to extract strings starting with a character string you enter, and ending at a character string you enter. In this case I entered a $ to start, and 1 blank space in the 2nd box. You will see this will then extract the dollar amounts out of the file as shown. You can also manipulate this data even further if you want, for example then remove all the $ signs. Simply just copy and paste these results back into this software again, and use the extract option to remove if you simply copy and paste these results back into this software again, and use the DELETE option to remove that from your results, etc.

Here are the sample results that will open in notepad. Text Tweak always opens up the results in a notepad text file, so you may copy and paste elsewhere or work with the results in any other application.
