Is qttask.exe safe or is this task spyware?

Purpose of qttask.exe:

File purpose and description:

Qttask.exe is a program that was most likely installed by you, but it may have also come installed on your computer when you purchased your system. Always verify the location of the file as shown below. The file location is critical as this can identify whether or not it is spyware or a virus, as often spyware and virus writers will attempt to trick you by using closely named software or similiar named software and place the file in other folders. Qttask.exe is a progrram fom Apple that is known as the Quicktime player. Quicktime player is a video and multimedia player that started out on the Mac, but now is available for Windows computers also and often plays in browser videos. This is the video player that is required to play videos of type "mov". Most pcs already have this installed, as it is also used by many browsers to play streaming mov files. It will appear in your computer startup list but is not required to always be running, it won't hurt anything to remove it from your startup list. This file is considered safe and is not considered to be spyware or adware related. Look for similiar spellings like qtask.exe, qtttask.exe, or qttaskk.exe as spyware related modules where they use similiar names. (See the details below for the actual location of this file.)

General information:
Be aware that many tasks will be similiar names to existing tasks or processes. You can always view the running tasks on your computer by pressing ctrl-alt-del to view the windows "task manager", and then view the "processes" tab. This will show you all tasks running or currently active on your PC. Although this shows you all running tasks, it does not show dll file thats are loaded, as they get loaded as part of other processes. Many spyware writers attempt to hide their files on your computer, for example, qttask.exe may be intentionally misspelled to look like a similiar task, or spyware may be named very similiar to a Windows system task. The reason they do this is so you cannot easily recognize the name in your tasklist as I have mentioned above. Make sure always check the location of the file if you are concerned. You can always find the location of qttask.exe on your computer by using your Windows search options, but I will also try to list the file location of every file described on this website, so you can verify the correct location. You can view the entire tasklist directory with the link below.
