File purpose and description:
hggdcaw.dll is a DLL module and it most likely was installed by you on your computer at some time in the past. The exact file location is shown below, always verify the location to make sure it is in the proper folder, as often spyware and virus writers place similiar names elsewhere in an attempt to make you think it is some other file. This file is part of the winfixer spyware and adware program. This will also create various popups and advertisements on your computer. This should be removed as this is not only a nuissance, but is a targeted advertising program that runs in your browser. This runs as a BHO in your web browser, and normally is involved with more then just 1 file. Use a BHO remover to remove this from your browser (if you do not have a BHO remover, just download the free trial of Complete Cleanup and click the startup/BHO button on the main screen, this will show you the BHO's on your system and allow you to simply remove the ones you choose .... look for the name hggda.dll). You most likely have another BHO named hggda.dll as part of malware process also. (See the details below for the actual location of this file.)
Actual file or task name:
hggdcaw.dll
File type:
This is a DLL program that is a browser helper object.

This file will be found at C:\WINNT\System32\hggdcaw.dll or C:\Windows\System32\hggdcaw.dll
General information:
Be aware that many tasks will be similiar names to existing tasks or processes.
You can always view the running tasks on your computer by pressing ctrl-alt-del to view the windows
"task manager", and then view the "processes" tab. This will show you all tasks running or currently active
on your PC. Although this shows you all running tasks, it does not show dll file thats are loaded, as they
get loaded as part of other processes. Many spyware writers attempt to hide their files
on your computer, for example, hggdcaw.dll may be intentionally misspelled to look like a similiar task, or spyware may be named very
similiar to a Windows system task. The reason they do this is so you cannot easily recognize the name in your tasklist
as I have mentioned above. Make sure always check the location of the file if you are concerned.
You can always find the location of hggdcaw.dll on your computer by using your Windows search options, but
I will also try to list the file location of every file described on this website, so you can verify the correct location. You can view the entire tasklist directory with the link below.
