File purpose and description:
This compind.bat file was most likely installed by you, and this is a batch file. Verify the actual disk location below as the correct disk location is shown below to verify it is not spyware or adware related. This is part of the Complete Cleanup software program, and it is safe. The purpose of this is to clean locked files (if you turn on the locked file cleanup on Complete Cleanup), then this will briefly flash when you reboot, it simply removes the locked browser files before the system gets a chance to lock them again. This will not hurt anything and does not need to be read when it opens (it can also be turned off by simply turning off the locked file cleanup on the software). "The Complete Cleanup" is a disk cleaning program that has been around for many years and can be downloaded at the softdd.com website, it is considered safe and is not virus or spyware related software. (See the details below for the actual location of this file.)
Actual file or task name:
compind.bat
File type:
This is a batch dos program.
File or folder location:
This will be located on your disk at the following folder: C:\Program Files\Complete Cleanup\compind.bat
General information:
Be aware that many tasks will be similiar names to existing tasks or processes.
You can always view the running tasks on your computer by pressing ctrl-alt-del to view the windows
"task manager", and then view the "processes" tab. This will show you all tasks running or currently active
on your PC. Although this shows you all running tasks, it does not show dll file thats are loaded, as they
get loaded as part of other processes. Many spyware writers attempt to hide their files
on your computer, for example, compind.bat may be intentionally misspelled to look like a similiar task, or spyware may be named very
similiar to a Windows system task. The reason they do this is so you cannot easily recognize the name in your tasklist
as I have mentioned above. Make sure always check the location of the file if you are concerned.
You can always find the location of compind.bat on your computer by using your Windows search options, but
I will also try to list the file location of every file described on this website, so you can verify the correct location. You can view the entire tasklist directory with the link below.
