Arris Router/Modem Blinking Blue Green Light

Asked by Anonymous - Arris Router/Modem Blinking Blue Green Light:
I have the combination router and modem from Arris, and I'm seeing the ligth (the light that looks like a world on the front) blinking alternating blue and green.  What does this mean?

Anonymous Says:
If the light is blinking blue and green then its actually updating the firmware software on the router.  Let it finish, it should only be a few minutes and will probably reboot afterwards as it updates firmware automatically.

Here is what the manual says for lights on my router, I have the docsis 3.1 Arris.

World light is solid and blue - Power connected

World light is slowly blinking blue - Acquiring the downstream connection.

World light is fast blinking blue - Acquiring the upstream connection.

World light is solid and green - Internet is online

World light is alternating blinking blue and green - Firmware download (wait and let finish).

The wifi light is the 2nd light and shown below the world sphere light.

Wifi light is solid and green - Clients are found (5Gz or dual band)

Wifi light is solid and green - Clients are found (5 Ghz or dual band)

Wifi light is slowlly blinking blue - No Clients are found (2.4 Ghz band)

That should cover all different scenarios!

Can you tell if someone is connected to your router?

Anonymous Says:
To the person that asked how to tell if someone is connected to your router, you can check your settings and if your router isnt 10 years old or something like that then new ones today have settings that show you all those currently connected.  Very easy.

Also above, that light that says clients are found tells you someone is currently connected to your wifi, otherwise it will be blinking green if no wifi is currently connected.
