Posted by Guest - Avi Video Wont Play In Windows Media Player : I'm currently using windows 10 and all my old AVI videos that played find on previous windows versions will not play in WMP windows media player.  I get the sound but the video does not show.  Does anyone know why media player doesnt play these video files when previously they all played fine. The avi videos are definitely not corrupt. WMV videos all play fine by the way.

Guest Says: Sometimes AVI videos are actually a different format and you can download the divx player.  Its free, then most AVIs will play fine as long as you use that media player, but I agree its a pain the assss that windows media player wont play all the video types. Also its a pain that windows movie maker also wont open those same type of avi videos, otherwise I would just open them in windows movie maker and save them back as WMV so all my video types are the same then.
