Windows Update Error - Code 80244019

Windows update fails and says error code 80244019.  What is that error?  This occurs when I go into the control panel and go to windows update and click the "check for updates" button.

I've never had this error occur before and never had a problem updating my windows operating system in the past ever.

It doesnt help either when you click the troubleshoot button, nothing there is related to the 80244019 error.  It also says Search results for "WindowsUpdate_80244019 OR WindowsUpdate_dt000"‎ (1) but that is meaingless information.

I had this same error occur in the past and it was because I updated windows once weeks earlier and then never rebooted my computer to complete the update. Reboot so your earlier updates complete, then try windows update again to get the latest patches, and that error should go away.

Delete or Rename Windows update temporary storage folder.
To do this:
a. Open “My Computer” and navigate to “C:Windows”folder.
b. Delete (or Rename e.g. to “SoftwareDistributionOLD”) the “SoftwareDistribution” folder.
Step 3: Start Windows Update service.
a. Go to Windows services and “Start”the Windows Update service.
After completing these steps, try to check for a Windows Update again. In case the problem persists, proceed to this website
