How to compare two rows in a input file through a SORT Step in JCL? The compare logic should be based on comparing 1 or 2 columns of both the rows.
to my knowledge sort is for sorting, not comparing files.
you should use comparex as that can be run from jcl also, that way you can compare 2 files programmatically but sort probably can't do that stuff

DFSORT and DFSORT's ICETOOL offer several methods for doing comparison, matches, joins, such as JOINKEYS, SPLICE, SELECT, etc. What you would use depends on what you are trying to do exactly.
