Posted by Mary - My Email Address Used By Spammers :
I have occasionally received emails purporting to be from me, but that I never sent. I always delete those. Recently, a friend sent this message:
Hi Mary,
I got a couple of e-mails from you, but when I tried to open them, they were ads - one for Blue Cross - I forget what the other was for.
This worries me - does someone have access to my address book, which is very large? What should I do?

Someone could have hacked into the email server, meaning they have your address book and many others address books, or it could be a virus on someone else computer that just read your email from their address book and is randomly sending emails to make it look like its coming from you, both of these are common ways this can occur.

jsut as it says, email not really from the email just looks like its from you. Not much you can do about it either way.
