Why Do You Need Iphone Multitasking

I read about the multitasking on the iphone all the time with their new phone but why do I tneed to have this?  what reason?

Multitasking on the iphone means running multiple apps at the same time, just like multitasking on the computer (which first began back in the mid 90s roughly).  This means you can do things like have aol radio playing a music station, and yet go to a different app like your stock quotes or fox sports, while still having your music station or talk radio, etc, still playing in the background.  The only way to do this before multitasking was to close the app on you your iphone first before opening the next iphone app, thats no longer an issue
