got thie antivirus soft virus cant seem to find the best way to remove it it has taken control of win internet explorer and has it comeing on automatacaly and randomly picking web sites and im runing firefox for my internet borowser also im useing windows xp pro.on a dell inspiron 1200 if that helps Please help me

You can stop or remove antivirus soft virus by first booting in safe mode. You must do this first. Then go to Documents and Settings - user - Local Settings - Application Data - then look for a random folder or file name that ends with sguard.exe So it may be XXXsguard.exe for example. Rename the file to XXXsguard.BACKUPexe so it can't run again. This must be done in safe mode. If you have Complete Cleanup, just run it when you are in safe mode and click "review startup", then click the startup tab and highlight and remove the name listed.

This will also make alot of registry setting changes on your IE browser, so run your antivirus once you have disabled the random program. Also look for a program named RANDOMCHARsftav.exe and rename it also. If you see that in the "review startup" section of Complete Cleanup, highlight and remove it also.
