i rec an e-mail after i answered an add for a 2008 toyota truck in the charlotte observer. the truck was priced at $9,100 some $9,000 below market value. the vehicle was listed as in canada. knowing this was fraud i e-mailed back asking where in canada i could see the vehicle as i had someone in canada who would rep me in the sale. i asked for an address and phone number. as you can imagine i have had no response. i called the charlotte observer 705-377-5555. reported what i had done as a result of the add. they removed the add today as it appeared to be fraud. i had two people respond to the add with different e-mail address and the respnse came back identical except for the name changes of the respondants. the e-mail for the add was(jbeil@netscape.com) if you could invistigate this person i think it will save some poor sole that may bite on the add. thanks please advise, daleandnancyw@aol.com

My guess is they were probably going to try and get someone to wire money to them, which no one should ever wire money to anyone over the internet, wiring money is a red flag because anyone can set up a fake company to handle a wire transaction. Wiring is way more risky then credit card, check, pay pal, etc.... as a check or pay pal means they have to have a bank account (and go through verification). Thats why most fraud takes place via wire, quick and they can disappear with your money.

i know people that have wired money also, and lost it, never wire money over the internet to buy something. Never. Anyone reputable will take credit card or check.

I'm glad you notified the charlotte observer, most would have just ignored it but at least you notified them
