I am a little hesitant to say this is a scam, but it sure sounds like it! I posted an ad on craigs list. Someone responded and said they would like to purchase, but I need to send my name, address and phone so they can send me a money order. They also stated they were out of the country on business, so this was the only way. They stated their assistant would send me the money order and they had arrangements to pick up the product. Sounds fishy to me....???

Yeah be carefull from any "out of the country" money orders, especially if they tell you to wire the money. What you need to do is don't send them any money until your bank tells you the money order has cleared, because remember that you are LIABLE For the money, so if the money order is fake and you sent the person cash .... you will owe the bank that money back. So if you cash the money order, wait a good week and check back with the bank to confirm is what real before you send any cash, tell the bank you are concerned it could be fraud and you want ot make sure it cleared and was a real money order

Anything out of the country or any "urgent" or "quick" excuses that they need to get the money is always a red alert. Definitely never wire money either, because one of the fraud tricks is to "accidently" overpay you and then they just ask you to wire them back the extra money they overpaid, then you find out later it was a fake money order and you owe the bank the full amount back.
