Main Question - Posted From diana:
How do I get out of safe mode. Rebooting does not help, comes back up in safe mode. A friend has this problem. He does not know what he did but appears to have intentionally selected safe mode and cannot get out of it. I am doing a system restore right now but don't have much hope. Any quick way out of this???

What system are you running on? Safe mode normally has to be chosen, I don't think I've ever seen it reboot automatically in safe mode. If the black menu screen doesn't give the option for "start normally" instead of "safe mode", then try pressing and holding down the delete key (or maybe the F8 key) when it is booting up, this should make the menu appear and allow you to choose the option to boot normally

This doesn't make sense.  You only reboot into safe mode if you actually do 1 of 2 things:  1 - You either hold down F8 temporarily as stated when the black dos rebooting screen shows, or you choose safemode on the black screen options that come up automatically when rebooting.  One of htose 2 have to happen on windows, it never reboots to safemode automatically.

By the way safe mode is great, its good to boot this way when you have a virus as you can then find and delete it without it affecting anything, and you can restore a previous registry version system restore point before rebooting windows back normally
