the virtumonde virus is onmy computer and I can't get rid of it. I've run several antivirus programs and its STILL THERE. Howt heheck do I get rid of this thing and how do I know its gone from my computer for good?

What virus checkers did you run? I'm assuming you are running adaware or spybot search and destroy as those are both free. If its not removing the virus, then boot in safe mode and run the virus check again on the entire computer. In safe mode it limits what is running, so only critical programs startup, this will guarantee nothing is "in use" and the viruses can be safely removed. This virtumonde virus has been around for a while now so any virus checker should fine and remove it as long as you run in safe mode. Also, make sure you run windows update on your computer. So many people do not do this. This should be done monthly at least or every 2 weeks to make sure your system is updated with the latest patches, its free so do it.
