When I click on the Windows help and support icon on my desktop an error messgage states: Windows cannot find helpctr.exe Can you help me please?

Are you on Windows XP? I think helpctr.exe was an XP help module, the only way its gone is if you were deleting files and diddn't know what you were deleting, don't randomly delete stuff unless you know what you are doing. Its always possible you had a bad hard drive sector and lost this file too. I would go to the microsoft site and search on that file, you should be able to find it and download it back on your computer.
