Main Question - Posted From bud pratt:
When I run it on my D drive, and watch the D rive comtenys, I can see it writing 1.9 Gig temporary .dat files. When I run it on my C drive, it doesn't write these .dat files. Why not? Is it working right?

Guest Says:
If you are running on vista you need to give it permission to run as admin, otherwise it doesn't have the authority to access the drive

Moderator Says:
What version of No File Recovery are you running? Make sure you have version 1.7. For Vista there were later fixes put in and you may have an old version. It should also put a popup message if you are on an external driver and using Vista or later, as it will remind you to give it admin access or it can't work on other drives, if you don't see that message then you don't have the latest version. (You can download the latest version here: http://www.softdd.com/no-file-recovery/ )

Guest Says:
Running on XP Home, SP3 It appears to go through all the motions, but I dont see the .dat files popping up. I'm the only user on this machine and should already be the administrater (I think),

Guest Says:
Files may not even show up depending upon your version. Older versions also work differently then the new version. As long as you see the counter moving on the screen then its working.

bud pratt Says:
Thanks, I'm sure you are right. The counter counts, it takes the right amount of time, and the hard drive light was lit. Thanks.
