i dont have the option to make a name for my ipod. it just says IPOD.. and when i right click it it says eject, can someone tell me wassup

when you right click and eject, eject just means its ok to unplug your ipod nano, you should always eject the ipod before unplugging it, it just finalizes the drive .... by defaul the name should always say "owners ipod" but I'm not sure if a used ipod actually carries the name on it, I beleive it does
