I bought an irobot roomba vacuum cleaner and the battery on went dead after a year and a half. Anyone else have this same problem with the roomba or did they just sell me crap?
Thats the same reason I went back to a regular vacuum, the roomba is great if you want to pay about $80 every 2 years for a new battery. I did exactly as the instructions stated, leaving it plugged in 24x7 etc, and mine was completely dead after 2 years. Of course the warranty is one year only. Buyer beware.
Roomba's are really neat though, nothing like watching tv while vacuming the carpets. It does stink though if you can't use it longer without buying a new battery
tried it, went back to the regular vacuum when my battery died.
Actually if you buy a replacement battery for the roomba on amazon they have good prices, much cheaper then the iroomba websitse battery replacement!
Please remember to recycle the old batteries, its actually illegal to throw them in the garbage. Alot of places have drop off points for old batteries and old cellphones, all that lead and other material leaks so please dont throw in the garbage. Check dropoff points at radioshack, home depot, lowes, batteriesplus, etc... or google it for your area.
