I followed the instructions here http://www.justtext.com/messageboards/20060416065855.html I also followed through the screenshots, and I have no ipod tab as your pictures hsow. How do I delete songs from the ipod? (I'm using ipod shuffle, if that makes any difference)

I have reviewed the instructions listed on this site, on the link you supplied. They are accurate if you are using version 7.0 of Itunes or earlier, as the manual option used to be used on the older version of Itunes. If you don't have an ipod tab, then you are using a newer version of ITunes and this is "even easier" now. Just highlight the "owners ipod" on the left (or whatever name you gave your ipod, by default it will say owners ipod), and then your song list shows on the right hand side. This is the song list on your ipod, it is NOT the song list on your computer. Now just highlight any song and press the delete key, and the song will be deleted, this removes it from your ipod. You no longer have to set the manual option and that option is gone, by default you are basically in manual mode already so the process is simple. If you don't have the latest ITunes version, go download it at ITunes.com, its free so why not.

If you don't see the ipod contents, you have to click the little icon next to owners ipod, which expands your ipod list and then shows the contents of it. it does not matter if its ipod shuffle, nano, etc.

how do i delete the songs on my ipod nano and put different songs on it?

Guest Says:
Shelley, to delete the songs just sync up the ipod with ITunes... create a list on ITunes using the File - Add option to create an ITunes list, then when you update your ipod it will match your ipod list with your ITunes list, its that simple.

i understand how your suppose to delete songs but when i hit the delete key it doesn't delete anything even if the songs are highlighted. i even tried to go to edit but the delete is unable to be used... HELP ME..its my moms christmas present

Guest Says:
Make sure are you using the latest version of ITunes, earlier versions didn't work if you press delete when the song is highlighted, this was added on hte later versions of itunes. Also make sure you have "ipod" selected on the left before you press delete, otherwise you are just deleting songs on your itunes list (that doesn't actually delete the song from your pc, it would just delete it from showing on your itnues list).

growel Says:
do you have to have your ipod registered to itunes to do this?

growel Says:

growel Says:
do you have to have your ipod registerd into itunes..? i have the newer version

Guest Says:
I didn't have to register anything with my ipd, just plugged it in.

Reema Says:
I downloaded the only version available on the apple website. Is it the newest version? I downloaded that one and still the ipod tab was not available. When I checked the "Owner's Ipod," I could not see any of the songs stored on my ipod. What went wrong?

Guest Says:
Read the early posts, there is no ipod tab anymore on itunes.

Reema Says:
Yeah ok, well when I highlight the 'Owner's Ipod,' I can't see the songs. I also cannot find any icon next to Owner's ipod to expand the ipod list. If I can't see the songs, how can I delete them?

Guest Says:
If you can't see the songs when owners ipod is chosen, then you don't have any songs on your ipod.

Reema Says:
Well, I am listening to songs on the ipod so they must be there, it's just that everytime I try to access them on "Owner's Ipod," I can't see them. They are blocked by some agreement document.
