the ipod (its an ipod nano) will not turn on no. yes the battery is charged so thats not an issue.

Did you check the switch on top of the nano? All nanos have a switch on top that is called a "hold switch". If you see an orange color, then you need to switch it back. It may have slid over accidently or bumped something, etc. Then just press any button on the nano after switching it back, and it should turn on just fine.

You can also reset the nano. Do this to reset: First turn the hold switch on the top of the nano on then off again. Then press the menu and select buttons at the same time for 5 to 10 seconds (just hold them down) and you will see the apple logo appear. This resets the nano, and may fix the problem. I also posted this earlier about updating the nano: To update your nano software, paste this in your browser: http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ Anyone can update their nano software, even if you aren't having problems turning it on, etc. There is some menu features you gain also by applying the update.

Does reseting wipe out everything on it?
Moderator Says:
No, resetting the nano will not wipe out your music. It may change some settings back to factory settings but the music remains.

reseting my ipod didnt work, and the hold switch is off, what else should i do?
Guest Says:
Resetting the nano should work if you followed the instructions above. If that didn't work I would just stop in at the apple store with it and show them, they are very helpfull, as there may be something else wrong if it wont reset.
